Claudia Marchini
Space Folding

Gallery One at the Museum presents Space Folding by Claudia C. Marchini These series are acrylic on paper. They represent how spacetime might fold or wrap. To accomplish this, I moved the field instead of using tools. Consequently, the interplay of paint made the images. Meaning, the images developed from chance field motion rather than from preconceived or determined concepts.

Also, Galley artist Karen O'Brien will be executing an intuitive live painting, start to finish, starting at 6:00 in front of the gallery. Watch the paint fly.

Brent Foreman
Unifying Portraits

The Closet Catalyst will be hosting the artwork of Brent Foreman, a new to the area artist, recently arrived from the Midwest. Brent is a student majoring in Spanish and is a primarily self-taught artist who often works in pastels, charcoal, and graphite. Portrait work has been a constant focus in his artistic evolution, and on display will be a few of his favorites including portraits of the Dalai Lama, Bob Marley, and Stevie Wonder. He finds that through studying and drawing those who we love, or those who inspire us, it becomes much easier to see that which unifies us all.

The Closet Catalyst is a new fashion exchange across the street from the FireHouse Gallery. We buy, sell, and trade gently used clothing and accessories.

Steven Dinkowitz
Walking Around Town

This month our featured artist is Steven Dinkowitz, whose photography expresses the beauty of commonplace scenes. Steven calls this show "Walking Around Town". He has selected prints that were captured on weekend walks he and his wife Barbara have taken during the past year and a half. Steven loves bold colors and strong geometry, and he is developing a personal style that emphasizes these elements, creating a painterly, rather than photographic, feel.

Steven and Barbara moved to Grants Pass in 1976 from Chatsworth, California.
