The Jo. Co. Historical Society will present the class work of "The
Classic Oils" in September at the historic Schmidt House Museum and Barn.
The month-long exhibit opens during First Friday and includes landscapes and
nature scenes done by this group of senior students. Also featured on First
Friday evening only will be demonstrations by the Rogue Valley Woodcarvers
& Woodturning Guilds, who will be demonstrating their craft in the Barn
behind the Schmidt House. Refreshments will be served.

This month
ShopRiverRock will feature local artists Joyce Abrams and Isabel Gaige from
Forest Edge Farm located in the Illinois Valley. Both Joyce and Isabel are
fiber artists and use llama fibers from Abrams’ llamas to create their
pieces. Their creations include hats and handbags from hand felted fibers.
Both artists were lifetime spinners and knitters when they discovered the
benefits of using this unique medium. Come see the beautiful creations they
will have on display. This evening, we will also be hosting the Umpqua
Valley’s Spangler Vineyards at our wine bar which will be open form 4 to 8
pm. Come try a fabulous selection of fine Southern Oregon Wines!
